Accompanying persons program

A variety of special tours are available exclusively for registered accompanying persons of international conference participants. Choose from 10 programs offering opportunities to experience Tokyo’s landmarks, traditional culture, history, and popular attractions.

How to Sign Up: Please see below for details of each tour.
Please sign up for your preferred tour at the TOKYO CITY INFORMATION DESK, which will be set up during the Convention in the Lobby Gallery on the B1 floor of the Glass Building at Tokyo International Forum.

T-1 Kappabashi Food Sample Making

Capacity: 20 participants

Food samples are highly realistic models of actual dishes, traditionally made from wax or resin and commonly displayed in restaurant windows across Japan.

T-2 TOKYO SKYTREE & Asakusa Walking Tour

Capacity: 40 participants

After enjoying the view from TOKYO SKYTREE, the tallest tower in the world, you will explore Asakusa on foot and experience the traditional atmosphere of one of Tokyo’s most historic districts.

T-3 Meiji Shrine & Harajuku Walking Tour

Capacity: 40 participants

Meiji Shrine offers a tranquil, forest-like setting in the heart of Tokyo. After enjoying its lush greenery, you will stroll through Harajuku, one of Tokyo’s trendsetting districts, and experience its vibrant pop culture.

T-4 Tokyo Tower (Main Deck) & Odaiba Area (Drive Past)

Capacity: 30 participants

After taking in the view from Tokyo Tower’s Main Deck, located 150 meters above ground, you will enjoy views of Rainbow Bridge and Tokyo’s waterfront area of Odaiba during the drive.

T-5 Tokyo City View (Observation Deck) & Shinjuku Golden Gai

Capacity: 30 participants

Experience the spectacular night view from Tokyo City View at Roppongi Hills, then visit Shinjuku Golden Gai, a compact nightlife district featuring around 280 small bars and eateries along six narrow alleys, known for its retro atmosphere and distinctive character.

T-6 TOKYO SKYTREE & TOKYO Solamachi

Capacity: 30 participants

After enjoying the view from TOKYO SKYTREE, the tallest tower in the world, you will have time to explore TOKYO Solamachi, a large commercial complex featuring a planetarium, an aquarium, restaurants, and more than 300 shops.

T-7 Zazen (Zen Meditation) Experience

Capacity: 15 participants

Visit Korinin Temple to experience zazen, a traditional form of Buddhist meditation that has become increasingly popular among international visitors. In the temple’s quiet surroundings, enjoy a peaceful opportunity to refresh and clear your mind.

T-8 Tokyo River Cruise & Hamarikyu Gardens

Capacity: 40 participants

Enjoy views of Tokyo from the Sumida River on a relaxing cruise, followed by a visit to the beautiful Hamarikyu Gardens, where you can experience a peaceful oasis surrounded by the city’s modern skyline.

T-9 Edo-Tokyo Museum & Imperial Palace (Drive Past)

Capacity: 40 participants

As you drive past the Imperial Palace, located on the former site of Edo Castle, your guide will provide historical commentary. You will then visit the renovated Edo-Tokyo Museum, reopened in spring 2026, which offers a vivid overview of Tokyo’s history and culture from the 1600s to the present day.

T-10 The Sumida Hokusai Museum & Asakusa

Capacity: 40 participants

Located in Sumida City, the birthplace of world-renowned artist Katsushika Hokusai, the museum introduces his life, artworks, and influence in Japan and around the world. Afterward, you will visit the historic district of Asakusa.

Eligibility: International Participants and their accompanying persons

Program: This optional half-day tour includes visits to commercial facilities in Tokyo and lunch.

Capacity: 30 participants per course (Minimum number of participants: 10)
The tour may be canceled if the minimum number of participants is not met.

Program fee: JPY 5,000 per person including consumption tax and lunch

"Heritage Department Store Tour"

Depart from the hotel → Visit Nihombashi Mitsukoshi Main Store → Lunch → Return to the hotel

Nihombashi Mitsukoshi Main Store is one of Japan’s most prestigious department stores, established in 1673. It offers a wide range of high-quality products along with items that reflect traditional Japanese culture. The building itself, including its magnificent central hall, is designated as an Important Cultural Property. Along with shopping, you will have the opportunity to observe Japan’s unique department store culture.

"Cutting-edge Retail & Commercial Facilities Tour"

Depart from the hotel → Visit NEWoMan TAKANAWA → Lunch → Return to the hotel

“Takanawa Gateway City,” often described as a once-in-a-century large-scale urban redevelopment project in central Tokyo, serves as the setting for this plan. As part of the program, participants will visit “NEWoMan TAKANAWA,” a core commercial facility within the development that opened in September last year. While touring this state-of-the-art shopping complex, which brings together over 180 tenants, participants will also have the opportunity to enjoy shopping and experience lunch on-site.

"Japanese Culture & Subculture Tour"

Depart from the hotel → The Gotoh Museum → Subculture Tour in Akihabara (including lunch) → Return to the hotel

Visitors can enjoy valuable works, including National Treasures, along with a beautiful seasonal garden. You can also spend a relaxing moment enjoying matcha tea while overlooking the serene garden.

Akihabara is a famous electric town in Japan. It’s also known as a mecca for Japanese subcultures that are popular around the world, such as hobbies, manga and anime, games, and idols. While walking around stores and concept cafés like “maid café,” visitors can experience the unique culture in Akihabara where Japanese technology and pop culture coexist.

A sacred place for Japan's mountain worship, Nikko is home to the "Shrines and Temples of Nikko," a registered World Heritage Site. On this tour, walk around World Heritage component sites such as Nikko Toshogu Shrine together with a National Government Licensed English Guide Interpreter. This is a walking tour where customers will be walking for approximately 5 km.
